Prerequisites

1. NotaryCentral mobile app (Available on iOS and Android)

2. Secugen Unity 20 Bluetooth Fingerprint Scanner. It can be purchased from one of the authorized resellers. Feel free to reach out to confirm you are purchasing the right device.

Tutorial on how to scan your first thumbprint:

Step 1: Charge your device

A red light indicates that it's charging.

Step 2: Turn on the device

Hold down the large Power button in the center. A flashing blue light indicates that it's on and listening to connect to devices.

Step 3: Click on "Journal" in the mobile app

  • If it's your first time, you'll be prompted to first fill out your Notary Commission.
  • Once you have inputted your Commission, click "New" in the "Journal" tab.

Step 4: Fill out the "Basics" section for the Journal entry

  • You only need to fill out the fields marked as Required. This is information like Place of Notarization and fee. We must fill it out before continuing to the identification stage.
  • Click "Continue"

Step 5: Scan a thumbprint

  • Scroll down and click "Add thumbprint"
  • Follow the guide that appears on the screen
  • Once you complete the instructions on the screen, you should see your thumbprint on the screen.
